The Illinois Speed Press est un groupe américain formé à Chicago à la fin des années 1960 autour de deux guitaristes virtuoses : Paul Cotton et Kal David. Le groupe, bien que relativement éphémère, s’est imposé comme un pont audacieux entre le rock psychédélique, le country-rock naissant et le rhythm and blues. The Illinois Speed Press was an American band from Chicago, active in the late 1960s, founded by guitarists Paul Cotton and Kal David. Though short-lived, the group carved a unique space in the fusion of psychedelic rock, emerging country-rock, and deep R&B roots. Their self-titled debut album, produced by James William Guercio (of Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears fame), showcases fiery dual guitar work, gritty vocals, and tightly arranged tracks. It remains a cult favorite among fans of late ’60s American rock innovation.
