Bachdenkel - Lemmings (1973)

Bachdenkel consisted of vocalist, guitarist and bassist, Peter Kimberley, guitarist Colin Swinburn and drummer Brian Smith. This was one of the most influential groups of the music scene in Birmingham, which saw the rise of the culture and psyche of the electric rock music. After settling in Paris, they recorded two albums during the 70s, but they took their time to find a producer: Lemmings their first album, recorded in 1970, came out in 1973, because nobody wanted ultra melancholic black text and these fatalistic dark out there knows where. Through an advertising campaign somewhat orthodox (their name was displayed everywhere), it is finally the Philips record label that will achieve this record in 1973. Bachdenkel therefore having lived all this time in France, the group has not been fully been integrated into contemporary currents of British prog. Le groupe Bachdenkel se composait du chanteur, guitariste et bassiste, Peter Kimberley, du guitariste Colin Swinburn et du batteur Brian Smith. Ce fut l'un des groupes les plus déterminants de la scène musicale de Birmingham, qui voyait la montée de la culture psyché et de la rock music électrique.
Après s'être installés à Paris, ils enregistrèrent deux albums pendant les années 70. Mais, ils leur fallut du temps pour trouver un producteur : leur premier album Lemmings, enregistré en 1970, ne sortit qu'en 1973, car personne ne voulait des textes ultra mélancoliques et noirs de ces sombres fatalistes sortis on ne sait d'où. Grâce à une campagne publicitaire quelque peu orthodoxe (leur nom était affiché partout), c'est finalement la maison de disque Philips qui va réaliser ce disque en 1973.
Bachdenkel ayant donc vécu pendant tout ce temps en France, le groupe n'a pas été entièrement été intégré dans les courants contemporains de la prog britannique. Le résultat nous donne des chansons magnifiques, avec un superbe lyrisme inhabituel et les chants uniques et chauds de Colin Swinburne et cela fait de cet album une expérience fortement recommandé...
