Stack was a hard rock band formed in California in 1969 which was rediscovered in the mid 80s by record collectors. Stack was actually quite well known in his time, and turned with great bands like Iron Butterfly. They were clearly influenced by other heavy rock groups of the time. The album has a very Led Zep oozing blues and begins with a kind of recovery 'Poison Ivy' way Blue Cheer. They are however not too grungy. On the positive side, the voices are excellent, especially on harmony and backing vocals, and the album has a melodic color of its own.
Stack était un groupe de hard rock de Californie formé en 1969 qui a été redécouvert au milieu des années 80 par les collectionneurs de disques. Stack était en fait assez bien connu en son temps, et tournait avec de grands groupes comme Iron Butterfly. Ils étaient manifestement influencés par d'autres groupes heavy rock de l'époque. L'album a un son très Led Zep suintant le blues et commence par une sorte de reprise de 'Poison Ivy' façon Blue Cheer. Ils ne sont toutefois pas aussi grungy. Du côté positif, les voix sont excellentes, en particulier sur l'harmonie et les chœurs, et l'album a une couleur mélodique qui lui est propre.
