The Open Mind - The Open Mind (1969)

The Open Mind is an English band from south London, Putney, specifically. Originally called The Apaches, he then named The Drag Set, and made a single under that name that had a critical success, 'Day and Night'. Soon after, Philip Fox (drums), Timothy Du Feu (bass) Terry Martin (guitar and vocals), and Mike Brancaccio (solo guitar and piano) take the name of The Open Mind. In 1969, was released the eponymous album that does not contain the excellent single released the following month, 'Magic Potion', which denotes a somewhat strange marketing design, it must be confessed. En même temps, 1969, c’est l’année d’Abbey Road, du premier album de Led Zep, et The Open Mind semblent être restés dans une mouvance post mod et psyché, donc un peu à contre courant de l’époque. Et puis, par certains côtés, The Open Mind emprunte des voies assez proches de Cream, qui est alors au top. Alors sans doute l’oubli dans lequel est plongé The Open Mind est du une fois de plus à une erreur de production et de commercialisation.
