Rhinoceros est un supergroupe américain formé en 1967 sous l’égide du producteur Paul A. Rothchild (The Doors). Réunissant des musiciens chevronnés issus de divers horizons (Iron Butterfly, Mothers of Invention, Buffalo Springfield…), le groupe se veut une "dream band" façonnée en studio. Better Times Are Coming, troisième et dernier album du groupe, sort en 1970. Il propose un savant dosage de soul rock, de rhythm’n’blues cuivré et de pop psyché. Malgré des musiciens talentueux, la sauce ne prend pas commercialement, et le groupe se dissout peu après. Cet album demeure une pépite sous-estimée du rock californien de l’époque.

Rhinoceros was a late-60s American supergroup assembled by Elektra producer Paul A. Rothchild. Designed as a "band of all-stars", it brought together experienced musicians from various prominent groups. Better Times Are Coming (1970), their final LP, showcases a blend of blue-eyed soul, brass-driven rock, and psychedelic pop influences. Although musically solid and occasionally brilliant, the album failed to chart significantly. Still, it remains a hidden gem of the era, exemplifying the ambitious studio-driven rock experiments of the time.
