Released in November 1971, Quicksilver is the sixth studio album by American psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service. This album marks a new era for the band, being the first without founding members John Cipollina and David Freiberg. With Nicky Hopkins also having departed, the lineup features Dino Valenti (vocals, guitar), Gary Duncan (guitar, vocals), Greg Elmore (drums), Mark Ryan (bass), and Mark Naftalin (keyboards). The album showcases a more structured sound, blending psychedelic rock, acid rock, and folk influences. Despite notable compositions like "Hope" and "Fire Brothers," the album did not achieve the commercial success of its predecessors, peaking at number 114 on the Billboard 200.
