Paul Kossoff, guitariste britannique né en 1950 à Londres, est principalement connu comme membre fondateur du groupe Free, célèbre pour le tube "All Right Now". Après la dissolution de Free en 1973, Kossoff enregistre son premier album solo, Back Street Crawler, sorti la même année. Malgré des problèmes de santé liés à la drogue, il parvient à modérer son addiction pour mener à bien cet enregistrement. L'album présente des contributions de ses anciens compagnons de Free, ainsi que d'autres musiciens renommés. Le titre "Molten Gold" est une reprise d'une session de Free en 1972, tandis que "Time Away" réunit Kossoff avec Simon Kirke et Tetsu Yamauchi, accompagnés de John Martyn.

Paul Kossoff, a British guitarist born in 1950 in London, is best known as a founding member of the band Free, famous for the hit "All Right Now". Following Free's breakup in 1973, Kossoff recorded his first solo album, Back Street Crawler, released the same year. Despite health issues related to drug use, he managed to moderate his addiction to complete the recording. The album features contributions from his former Free bandmates and other renowned musicians.The track "Molten Gold" is a reworked version from a 1972 Free session, while "Time Away" brings together Kossoff with Simon Kirke and Tetsu Yamauchi, accompanied by John Martyn.
