Originaire de New York, Elephant's Memory est un groupe atypique m锚lant rock psych茅d茅lique, soul, jazz et politique. D’abord remarqu茅 pour sa participation 脿 la B.O. du film Midnight Cowboy, le groupe devient c茅l猫bre en 1972 en collaborant avec John Lennon et Yoko Ono sur l’album Some Time in New York City. Leurs propres albums, et notamment ce second 茅ponyme de 1972 (脿 ne pas confondre avec le premier de 1969), sont marqu茅s par une 茅nergie brute, une instrumentation dense (cuivres, orgue, guitares hurlantes) et un message contestataire. Entre groove urbain et psych茅d茅lisme rageur, Elephant’s Memory incarne l’underground new-yorkais engag茅 des ann茅es Nixon.

Hailing from New York City, Elephant’s Memory fused rock, soul, jazz, and psychedelia with leftist political fervor. Initially known for their contribution to the Midnight Cowboy soundtrack, they gained wider attention in 1972 when they became John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s backing band on Some Time in New York City. Their self-titled 1972 LP (not to be confused with the 1969 release) stands as a potent mix of streetwise funk-rock, fuzzed-out guitars, and brass-driven protest energy—a raw portrait of a city and a movement on edge.
