Joey Covington (né le 27 juin 1945 à East Conemaugh, en Pennsylvanie, et mort dans un accident de voiture le 4 juin 20131 à Palm Springs, en Californie) est connu pour avoir été le premier batteur de Hot Tuna, en 1969, et le troisième batteur de Jefferson Airplane, entre 1969 et 1972. Il a quitté Jefferson Airplane pour enregistrer son propre album Fat Fandango et poursuivre une carrière solo.

Joe Covington est un guitariste et compositeur américain dont l’album Fat Fandango sorti en 1973 illustre parfaitement le rock psychédélique teinté de blues et de folk de cette époque. Joey Covington (born June 27, 1945 in East Conemaugh, Pennsylvania, and died in a car accident on June 4, 20131 in Palm Springs, California) is known to have been Hot Tuna's first drummer in 1969, and the third drummer of Jefferson Airplane, between 1969 and 1972. He left Jefferson Airplane to record his own album Fat Fandango and pursue a solo career.

Joe Covington is an American guitarist and composer whose 1973 album Fat Fandango perfectly showcases psychedelic rock infused with blues and folk influences of that era.
