Frijid Pink est un groupe de hard rock formé à Detroit en 1967 par cinq amis d'école. Ce premier opus a été enregistré à Media Sound Studios à New York où le groupe est resté et fait la fête avec des gens comme Janis Joplin, Rod Stewart et bien d'autres. L'album Frijid Pink n'est délivré qu'en 1970, et même s'ils n'avaient jamais enregistré, Frijid Pink avait manifestement appris beaucoup au cours des trois ans passés sur la route.

Signé sur le sous-label Parrot/Deram, leur premier album éponyme sort en janvier 1970. Porté par une reprise puissante de House of the Rising Sun, certifiée disque d’or, l’album mélange hard blues, psychédélisme et grooves à guitares fuzz lourdes, devenant un classique du genre.

Frijid Pink is a Hard Rock band formed in Detroit in 1967 by five friends from school. This first work was recorded at Media Sound Studios in New York where the group stayed and partied with the likes of Janis Joplin, Rod Stewart and many others. The album Frijid Pink is issued in 1970, and even if they had never registered, Frijid Pink had obviously learned a lot over the past three years on the road. Propelled by their heavy blues-rock cover of House of the Rising Sun, certified gold, the album fuses fuzz-driven guitars, psych energy, and hard grooves, cementing its status in late '60s/early '70s rock history.
