Shelagh McDonald, a young Scottish singer with a pure and expressive voice, quietly emerged onto the British folk scene with her debut Album in 1970. Featuring contributions from top folk-rock musicians like Richard Thompson and Danny Thompson, this collection of pastoral, introspective songs is marked by poetic lyricism and subtle arrangements. After mysteriously disappearing in 1971, McDonald became a cult figure, and Album has since been rediscovered as a lost treasure of British psychedelic folk.
