Red Dirt - Red Dirt (1970)

Red Dirt is a group of Heavy Blues formed around 1968, and which traced its groove in the clubs of northern England. Their first and only album was released in 1970 on the Fontana label and Rock legend wants that it is sold in a hundred copies. So we are dealing with a kind of rock the ghost ship brought to the surface by the magic of the Net and backed by a big score in the mid vinyl collectors. Nothing exceptional well in the group's history, a meeting between musicians as there have been hundreds during this blessed period of the early 70's. It simply noted that Richardson had had the opportunity to cross paths with Mick Ronson, who will be the most famous musician quoted in this column modest. .... Red Dirt est un groupe de Heavy Blues formé vers 1968, et qui a tracé son sillon dans les clubs du nord de l'Angleterre. Leur premier et seul album est publié en 1970 sur le label Fontana et la légende du Rock veut qu'il ne s'en soit vendu qu'une centaine d'exemplaires.
On a donc affaire à une sorte de vaisseau fantôme du Rock remonté à la surface par la magie du Net et soutenu par une grosse cote dans le milieu des collectionneurs de vinyls.
Rien de bien exceptionnel dans l'histoire du groupe, une rencontre entre musiciens comme il y en a eu des centaines pendant cette période bénie du début des 70's. On notera simplement que Richardson avait eu l'occasion de croiser la route de Mick Ronson, qui sera donc le musicien le plus connu cité dans cette modeste chronique.
....Et ce jusqu'à l'apparition de Paul Mc Cartney qui a eu l'honneur d'enregistrer son premier album solo dans les studios Morgan à Londres, pile poil pendant les sessions de Red Dirt.
