Half hard rock group formed heavy metal mid-1970 in Montreal by guitarist Frank Marino, it consists in addition of drummer Jimmy Ayoub and bassist Paul Harwood. Mahogany Rush was first inspired by British blues rock groups, and Marino quickly adopts exhibitionist style of Jimi Hendrix, his idol.In 1971 Mahogany Rush occurs in public in Montreal, and he was spotted by Kotai, a Canadian label that signed the band. After about two years, pretending to go anywhere very quickly, Marino began recording his first album, Maxoom (naturally album dedicated to Hendrix), when he was only 16 years old. This disc is released in 1973. It was only in 1974 that released the second album 'Child Of The Novelty'. The group then made known to the USA and he seriously starts to get a reputation as a live band. And Marino becomes the guitarist "talked about" up to be invited on an album April Wine. The group then record more than a dozen LP during the first two decades of its existence.
