Unless you are a connoisseur of psych rock of the sixties, you say that the first (and only) LP Demian was actually the second of Bubble Puppy will not help you. Yet it was not a simple name change, but also a radical change in musical direction. Bubble Puppy was pure psychedelic, while Demian were hard rockers solid. Under this name, the group has issued only 33 minutes of music - a very tight album of eight songs. The first song, "Face the Crowd," Atomic Rooster has a strong flavor and the rest of the album also has shades of Savoy Brown, Deep Purple, Chicago and more generally its a hard American rock. The group wrote good songs ( 'Coming', 'Windy City', 'Are You With Me Babe') and had an effective rhythm section (bassist Roy Cox and drummer David Fore) and a powerful singer (Cox ). The album was recorded at night at the famous Record Plant Studio in live mode, which gives the music a lot of soul, but also some false notes ...
