Sorti en mars 1969, Happy Trails est le deuxième album de Quicksilver Messenger Service, groupe phare du rock psychédélique de San Francisco. Construit autour de longues improvisations live, notamment sur le thème de "Who Do You Love" de Bo Diddley, l'album capture l'essence des concerts hallucinés du groupe à la fin des années 1960. La première face est entièrement occupée par une suite live de plus de 25 minutes, tandis que la seconde propose une alternance entre enregistrements live et studio. Released in March 1969, Happy Trails is the second album by San Francisco psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service. Centered around extended live improvisations, notably on Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love," the album captures the hypnotic energy of the band’s late ’60s performances. Side one consists of a 25-minute live suite, while side two blends live and studio tracks. Critically acclaimed for its instrumental prowess and cohesion, the album reached #27 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified gold.
