Steppenwolf - Steppenwolf (1968)

Sulfur precursor of hard rock, Steppenwolf is one of the first groups to slide heavy metal. From its side stirrer and protest, Steppenwolf has, via a mature writing, personified social unrest, political and philosophical affecting the late 60's. An aggressive image, sulphurous and rebellion then stuck with the band John Kay, noticeable from the first released in early 1968. Heavy, hard, powerful, but especially wonderful, it carries a lot of memorable titles including Born to be Wild, while second single of Steppenwolf, the soundtrack of Easy Rider and popularized the bikers and the Hells Angels worldwide appropriated and the Pusher, controversial version of the drug. Lourd, dur, puissant, mais surtout merveilleux, il véhicule un lot de titres mémorables dont Born To Be Wild, alors second single de Steppenwolf, que la bande-son d’Easy Rider popularise et que les bikers et les Hell’s Angels du monde entier s’approprient, ainsi que The Pusher, version polémique sur la drogue. Pour soigner sa communication, on n’a pas trouvé mieux. Steppenwolf est une icône de la contre-culture ambiante.
