Crystal Syphon - Crystal Syphon (1967)

Crystal Syphon was formed in 1965 by a group of musicians from Merced High School.  Originally known as the Morlochs, the founding members were Jeff Sanders on vocals and percussion, his brother, Jim Sanders, on rhythm guitar and vocals, Tom Salles on lead guitar and vocals, Dave Sprinkel on keyboards and vocals, Roger Henry on bass and Andy  Daniel on drums.  The band was at first very much influenced by the Beatles and such Southern California bands as the Byrds; because of the ability to sing four part harmonies, the band was able to do versions of Beatles’ songs that would be impossible for most other bands of the time..

Crystal Siphon a été formé en 1965 par un groupe de musiciens du Merced High School. Les membres fondateurs étaient Jeff Sanders au chant et percussions, son frère Jim Sanders à la guitare rythmique et au chant, Tom Salles à la guitare et au chant, Dave Sprinkel aux claviers et au chant, Roger Henry à la basse et Andy Daniel à la batterie. Le groupe fut d'abord très influencé par les Beatles et les groupes du sud de la Californie comme les Byrds. En raison de la possibilité de chanter quatre harmonies, le groupe était capable de faire des versions des chansons des Beatles ce qui aurait été impossible pour la plupart des autres groupes de l'époque.
