Originaire de Boston, Quill fut un groupe éphémère de la scène psychédélique américaine, actif à la fin des années 1960. Composé autour des frères Jon et Dan Cole, le groupe se forgea une solide réputation dans la région de la Nouvelle-Angleterre grâce à ses performances scéniques originales mêlant rock expérimental, percussions tribales et touches théâtrales. Leur participation au légendaire festival de Woodstock en 1969 leur offrit une brève notoriété nationale, bien qu’aucune image de leur prestation ne figure dans le film ou la bande originale. Leur unique album, sorti en 1970 sur le label Cotillion (une filiale d’Atlantic), propose une fusion singulière de rock psychédélique, folk et jazz, marquée par des textes poétiques et des structures musicales non conventionnelles. Le groupe se dissout peu après, victime du manque de soutien promotionnel.

Quill was a short-lived psychedelic rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, active in the late 1960s. Centered around brothers Jon and Dan Cole, the band became known in the New England underground scene for its eclectic sound and multimedia stage performances. They were one of the lesser-known acts to perform at the 1969 Woodstock Festival, although their set was not included in the official film or soundtrack. Their self-titled debut and only album, released in 1970 by Cotillion Records, showcased an experimental blend of psychedelic rock, jazz influences, and socially conscious lyrics. Despite some critical interest, the group quickly disbanded due to lack of commercial support and exposure.
