In 1967, Al Kooper left The Blues Project to form Blood Sweat and Tears, bringing Steve Katz with him. Danny Kalb dropped out of sight. So, only rhythm section Andy Kulberg (bass & flute) and Roy Blumenfeld (drums) were left to fulfill the Blues Project's contractual obligation. The new band they formed was Seatrain. This album is really the first Seatrain album. It sounds almost nothing like the Blues Project. Rumor was that the band recorded a bunch of songs that they didn't care for to fill this album, and then went to Capitol and recorded what they wanted to represent Seatrain.

Donc, seule la section rythmique composée d'Andy Kulberg (basse et flûte) et de Roy Blumenfeld (batterie) est restée pour remplir l'obligation contractuelle du Blues Project. Le nouveau groupe qu'ils ont ainsi formé était Seatrain. Cet album est de fait le 'premier album' de Seatrain. Il n'a plus rien de commun avec le style de Blues Project. La rumeur était que le groupe avait composé un tas de chansons dont quelques unes ont servi pour cet album, puis est allé à Capitol et enregistré ce qu'ils avaient retenu pour représenter Seatrain.
