The Survival of St. Joan is a rock opera by Smoke Rise from an original concept and libretto by Off-Broadway playwright and screenwriter James Lineberger. The basic story of The Survival of St. Joan is based upon the conceit that Joan of Arc was spared her execution by virtue of a double being burned in her place. After this stroke of good fortune, Joan is led off to a farm where her caretaker falls in love with her and wants her to settle down, but Joan, restless and driven, leaves to try to rejoin the French army in the Hundred Years War.

Après ce coup de chance, Jeanne est emmenée dans une ferme où sa gardienne tombe amoureuse d'elle et veut qu'elle s'installe, mais Jeanne, inquiète et sous influence, part tenter de rejoindre l'armée française dans la guerre de Cent Ans.
