Originaire de Cincinnati, Jade était un groupe régional actif vers 1970–1973. Mené par James Aumann (claviers, chant), Randy Morse (guitare, chant), Nick Root (basse, chant), Timothy Nixon (batterie) et épaulé par le co-producteur David Smith, ils signent un unique LP autoproduit, sorti sur le micro-label General American Records. L’album Faces of Jade se distingue par ses arrangements sophistiqués (harmonies vocales, claviers marquants) et ses touches psychédéliques folk inspirées par les Beatles, tout en évitant les clichés du garage pur.

Hailing from Cincinnati, Jade was a regional band active around 1970–1973. Led by James Aumann (keyboards, vocals), Randy Morse (guitar/vocals), Nick Root (bass/vocals), Timothy Nixon (drums), and co-producer David Smith, they released their one-off LP Faces of Jade on tiny General American Records. The album features elaborate arrangements—shimmering harmonies, prominent keyboards—and psych-folk influences inspired by The Beatles, transcending typical garage tropes .
