Released in 1968, Anthem of the Sun was the Grateful Dead’s second studio album. It has only five songs on it, which is the lowest number of songs between any of the band’s studio albums.At the time of its release, the album was an experimental combination of studio and live recordings, with some tracks, notably Alligator, containing studio passages along with sections recorded at concerts the band performed.
